On the trail of Brother Wolf

Director : Bruno Vienne

Shot on location in Lozère, in the Mercantour mountains and the back country of the Var in Southern France, the film observes what happens in the wild and examines lupine mythology and mankind's innate fear of wolves. More particularly, it shows how these animals really behave.
By filming at night, we have discovered many of the unseen, unknown aspects of canis lupus.

The authors are also an integral part of the filming as we wanted to show the relationships that developed between the film crew and these intelligent animals in their sophisticated pack society.

Filming in nature is never easy and this film was much more difficult to make than most; but Gérard Ménatory's anecdotes, recounting the truths and the legends of wolves, give the film a smooth-flowing unity.

The history of the wolf is endless. It started when time began and takes just four words to describe: wolves cannot be tamed.
